The automotive world just got louder. After a brief absence, the Ram 1500 TRX returns for 2027 with 777 horsepower, reclaiming its position as the most powerful production gas pickup truck ever built. Announced on January 1, 2026, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX arrives in showrooms during the second half of 2026.
This marks the return of Ram's SRT Performance division to the pickup segment for the first time in two decades. With a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V-8, advanced Bilstein suspension, and luxury appointments throughout, the 2027 TRX delivers extreme performance and daily refinement in one package.
Under the hood sits a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V-8 producing 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque. This output eclipses the nearest competitor by 57 horsepower and 40 lb-ft. Compared to the previous generation, horsepower increases by more than 10% and torque climbs by 40 lb-ft.
The V-8 connects to a high-torque-capacity TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission. Quick gear changes and intelligent gear-skipping capability optimize both efficiency and responsiveness. Power reaches all four wheels via a BorgWarner full-time active transfer case with selectable 4WD Auto, 4WD High (locked), and 4WD Low (locked) modes. The 2.64:1 low range provides precise control during technical crawling.
To feed the engine's 2.4-litre twin-screw supercharger, Ram engineers designed a dual-path induction system. Cool air flows through both the grille opening and the centre-mounted hood scoop, converging at a high-capacity radial air filter positioned in an open-top air box for easy field cleaning. The hood duct features a tortuous path with water relief flaps that drain moisture and filter debris.

Composite fender flares create a purposeful hourglass design. Standard 18-inch Satin Black wheels shroud the largest brake rotors in the class. Optional 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels come finished in Satin Black with Satin Titanium beadlock rings.
Blacked-out bi-functional projector LED headlamps with Satin Black bezels flank a Flame Red flow-through R-A-M grille. An SRT badge adorns the lower driver-side corner. The steel front bumper integrates a functional skid plate and oversized Flame Red tow hooks. LED clearance marker lights sit in the functional hood scoop and on the outer edges of the front bumper.
At the rear, premium darkened LED taillamps with Satin Black bezels include integrated blind-spot monitoring. A large R-A-M badge and the first SRT badge on a TRX tailgate sit alongside a new TRX logo. The steel rear bumper frames symmetrical Flame Red tow hooks and Gloss Black 127-millimetre dual exhaust tips.
The exclusive Bloodshot Night Edition package celebrates the TRX's return. This special edition features the first two-tone design for TRX, with a hand-painted Blacktop upper in Diamond Black Crystal Pearl and a custom-painted Flame Red centre stripe. A bodyside splash graphic flows from the front door through the bedside, integrated with the TRX graphic.
Inside, the Bloodshot Night Edition adds red outline interior TRX badging, a glass-encased TRX centre console badge, and carbon fibre with red anodized thread. Standard beadlock-capable wheels come finished in Satin Black with Satin Titanium beadlock rings.
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX cabin features 12-way power front seats with memory function, massage, heating, and ventilation. The second row offers class-exclusive reclining, heated, and ventilated rear seats.
Seating surfaces use black premium Natura Plus leather with perforated suede inserts and red bolster accents. Red contrast stitching flows across the hand-wrapped dashboard, door panels, and centre console. Red embroidered TRX seatback logos and Ruby Red seat belts add distinctive touches.
For the first time, TRX features a leather-wrapped airbag cover with red stitching, a full suede headliner, and suede-wrapped visors. Genuine carbon-fibre trim frames the digital instrument cluster, covers the upper glove box lid, and accents the leather-trimmed door panels and rear console endcap.
The 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 reconfigurable touchscreen offers the largest display in the class. The Atlantis electrical architecture delivers operating speeds five times faster than the previous generation, with touchscreen response as quick as 0.05 seconds.
A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster displays nearly two dozen different menus, including driver-assist technologies like adaptive cruise control, Hands-free Active Driving Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, and Traffic Sign Recognition. A configurable full-colour Head-up Display with a 10-inch field of view provides critical information without requiring eyes to leave the road.
