Ram has officially confirmed the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee lineup, launching what the brand calls an all-new subsegment of muscle trucks. The announcement, revealed through a short film hosted by Tim Kuniskis, head of American brands and SRT Performance, marks the return of a nameplate that traces its roots to the original Ram muscle truck era. For truck enthusiasts who have wanted a pickup with serious attitude and serious performance, the Rumble Bee lineup is built to fill that space.
The Rumble Bee arrives with four distinct models, each powered by a HEMI V-8 and engineered to deliver an experience closer to a muscle car than a traditional work truck. Ram has designed the entire lineup around a shorter Quad Cab and short bed body configuration, a combination that reduces the wheelbase by 330 mm compared to a standard Ram 1500 and creates proportions that are wider, stockier, and more aggressive than anything else in the half-ton segment.
What Is the Rumble Bee?
The Rumble Bee name dates back to Ram's history of performance pickup trucks. Now revived for 2027, it anchors a lineup that spans from a spirited street truck to a track-capable SRT variant. Ram is tying the Rumble Bee's launch to its participation in the NASCAR Truck Series, underscoring the performance credentials behind the lineup.
All Rumble Bee models share a unique body configuration: a widebody stance measuring 2,235 mm (88 inches) wide with an overall length of 5,575 mm (219.5 inches). The shorter wheelbase improves handling dynamics, reduces frame flex by 10 percent, and gives designers the proportions to create a truck that looks like it belongs at a starting line.
Four Models, Three HEMI V-8 Engines
Ram has structured the 2027 Rumble Bee lineup into four models with increasing levels of performance:
- Rumble Bee: 5.7-litre HEMI V-8, 395 horsepower, 0-96 km/h in 6.1 seconds
- Rumble Bee 392: 6.4-litre 392 HEMI V-8, 470 horsepower, 0-96 km/h in 5.2 seconds
- Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack: 6.4-litre 392 HEMI V-8 with SRT suspension, Brembo brakes, and performance aero
- Rumble Bee SRT: 6.2-litre supercharged Hellcat HEMI V-8, 777 horsepower, 0-96 km/h in 3.4 seconds
The entry-level Rumble Bee uses the proven 5.7-litre HEMI V-8, producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Every model in the lineup routes power through Ram's TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and includes full-time active four-wheel drive, plus a dedicated RWD button for true rear-wheel-drive operation.
The Rumble Bee SRT: A Record-Setting Pickup
Sitting at the top of the lineup, the Rumble Bee SRT is built around the 6.2-litre supercharged Hellcat HEMI V-8. With 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, Ram calls this the most powerful internal combustion engine ever offered in a production pickup truck. The targeted top speed is 274 km/h, and the quarter-mile time comes in at 11.6 seconds at 187 km/h.
The SRT also brings mission-specific hardware that separates it from the rest of the lineup, including Bilstein Damptronic Sky dual-valve semi-active performance shocks, 410 mm Brembo six-piston front brake calipers, and 87 kg of aerodynamic downforce at top speed. Tires measure 325/40R22 on 22-by-12-inch wheels, the widest combination Ram has ever offered on a production vehicle since the Dodge Viper.
Towing and Payload

Despite the performance focus, the Rumble Bee still functions as a pickup truck. The lineup is rated for up to 8,890 lbs (4,032 kg) of towing capacity and up to 1,160 lbs (526 kg) of payload capacity.
Availability
The Rumble Bee launches with the 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 variant, with availability projected for late 2026. The Rumble Bee 392 and Rumble Bee SRT are set to arrive in the first half of 2027.
A New Chapter for Performance Pickups
The last time Ram produced a dedicated performance pickup was the Ram 1500 SRT10, powered by a V-10 and discontinued in the mid-2000s. For twenty years, the pickup segment has offered trucks with off-road performance, towing performance, and luxury, but nothing built specifically around the muscle truck formula of big displacement, rear-wheel-drive character, and driver-focused engineering. The Rumble Bee lineup fills that gap.
